About me:
The Upset Victory Have Awakened

Storming from coast to coast is Cincinnati, Ohio’s The Upset Victory, electrifying audiences with their live performances and capturing the minds of listeners with their stellar recordings. With five EPs already in the books and a growing presence throughout the national music scene, this five piece outfit pumps out an intoxicating blend of punk, metal, and pop to create a unique, exciting sound.

Since their inception in 2006, the team of Stephen Campbell (guitar), Frank Hammonds (guitar/vocals), Spencer van der Zee (bass), Jason Dill (vocals), and Kevin Deem (drums), has developed their chops, skill, and influence considerably. They quickly inked a deal with Takeover Records, who released their self titled EP in 2007, which was immediately followed by "Between the Walls and the Worlds that Sleep". Their latest release, "The Awakening"; an aggressive, sleek two song EP was handled by the burgeoning Recover Records, and features their latest single, “Actions.”

Even more impressive than their phenomenal material is the band’s white knuckled, in-your-face approach to playing, flexing their rock muscles across the country at events such as Vans Warped Tour, Midpoint Music Festival, and Taste of Cincinnati Festival. As they continue to soar skyward, The Upset Victory has opened up for and shared the stage with some of the country’s hottest acts such as Bayside, Story of the Year, MxPx, We Came as Romans, and Beneath the Sky.

While drawing comparisons to groups such as Saosin, Saves the Day, and Thursday, The Upset Victory caught the attention of national recognized label mates, Yellowcard. “It’s like Thrice and Iron Maiden had a bastard child with Motley Crue,” said Warren Cooke, former bass player for the violin wielding pop-punk unit.

The band was also featured in AMP Magazine’s “Top 8 Bands You Should Be Blastin’!” which was just one of many accolades The Upset Victory saw from their peers, radio DJs, label executives, and publications such as Myxer.com, CiN Weekly, and Sound Collective. “The Upset Victory defines work ethic for an emerging band. This band is as talented and humble as any band I have seen, and that enables them to have a modern sound that is their own,” said David Adam Monroe, President of Recover Records and Time Bomb Studios.

The Cincinnati five-some is showing no signs of slowing down, as they are already tirelessly working on material for their upcoming debut full length record. Following the popularity of their first music video for “The Will,” they will be prepping for another shoot this summer to promote their latest single “Actions.” Look for The Upset Victory on tour soon, and all five of their EPs are available from digital retailers such as iTunes, Amazon, and Interpunk.
