About me:
Any group of individuals can throw a few instruments together and call themselves a rock band. Few bands, however, can appeal to much greater than a mere niche market. With a sound that blends melodic, acoustic, alternative and mainstream rock, St. Louis’s CityAvenue (formerly known as The New Translation and Faraday) has quickly risen well above its peers.

And consider this: with a median age of 23, CityAvenue has accomplished so much in just 3 years. In this time, they’ve received consistent airplay on St. Louis’s largest alternative rock station 105.7 The Point and won 3 local battle of the bands competitions to perform at the Vans Warped Tour, Pointfest and Projekt Revolution. Hailing from Collinsville, Illinois, Faraday has played alongside national acts such as Atreyu, 10 Years, Hawthorne Heights and have opened for noteworthy acts Saliva and Filter. This hard hitting band has sold out Pop’s (1,600 in capacity) in Sauget, IL on numerous occasions.

There was so much buzz for CityAvenue after winning the right to perform at Projekt Revolutions St. Louis stop that their livecast event was available through MTV2 to view for a month on Charter on Demand.

These young rockers refuse to rest, readying themselves to take on the challenges that lie ahead. Faraday is hard at work writing their highly anticipated follow-up EP due out in summer 2012. CityAvenue recorded their debut CD in 2008 called Shift, with veteran rockers Scott Gertken and Rich Criebaum (Modern Day Zero) at Trailer Studios.

"Shift" was produced, engineered and mixed by Rich Criebaum. Additional engineering by Scott Gertken. Recorded at Trailer Studios, Foristell, MO.
