Southern California's
Uriah is a powerful melodic metal group that courses through the
veins of the still beating metal community. The five band members
include Lucas Carbajal, (Vocals), Philip Beer, (Guitar), Chris
Breedlove (Bass), Ryan Wade, (Piano) and Chris Collier (Drums and
Production).
Since all but one of the band members are from other parts of the country, there is a magnetic force that has drawn the band and their growing fan base together. Dedicated and hard working the band has fought through lineup changes to emerge as a stronger and more creative musical force.
Uriah has continued to successfully book and tour the Southern California region without the help of agents and or management. They have played at venues from the intimate Viper Room to larger venues such as the Avalon Theater, and House of Blues in Hollywood.
The band has performed several showcases, including opening up for Hed PE at the legendary Key Club in Hollywood to a sold out crowd, and the Hollywood Park Casino sharing the stage with Alien Ant Farm.
In December of 2006 Uriah was also a final round contestant in Bodog's Million Dollar battle of the bands, surpassing over 3000 artists to achieve an astounding 2nd place at the Avalon Theater. However live performances are just a hint of the bands capabilities as the group has received airplay on Howard Stern, Talkhardradio4u.com and Europe’s Sky Network satellite radio and is soon to be featured on Pandora Internet Radio.
Uriah's most important goal is and always will be to make excellent music. In August 2007 Uriah released the now underground famed “Letters In Blood”. This self-produced full length album has been launched all over the world with continued success with availability on just about every outlet available including, iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, CDBaby and Best Buy.
Sales on these mediums have even found a place overseas in Europe, The Philippines, and Australia's iTunes showing consistent download sales. With continued momentum, Uriah hit the studio again with their sophomore effort "Love. Death. Vengeance". Keeping strongly associated with the group’s affinity for catchy lyrical choruses and brutally driving instruments, this E.P. takes the listener many more steps down the rabbit hole with far more piano lines and movie soundtrack qualities found only in professionally produced efforts. “The songs are more dynamic and challenge the bands technical envelope at the benefit of its listeners...” Chris Collier who produced and performed on the record says. “Letters In Blood was a nice variance of our range” says vocalist Lucas Carbajal, “but this E.P. reaches to the core of us as musicians and I think our fans will hear it in the music...”.
The album is currently on iTunes and CDBaby and is being well received by its audience. Dedication and reverence for the art of music is the key element of what Uriah stands for. They are currently writing and recording again while looking forward to an upcoming Music Festival at the L.A. Coliseum in August as well as a tour brewing for the rest of the country.
They tirelessly struggle to reach out to each and every fan that enjoys what they hear. With honest and intelligent music, the members of Uriah visualize longevity as part of their individual music careers. Keep your eyes, ears and mind open. you may have just found the sound that you've been looking for.
